Hit and Run Kills Two

A hit and run incident in Stamford on Friday evening, left two people dead and another two seriously injured.

According to Police the accident happened at 8.30 p.m. on West Main Street near the Greenwich border when a Nissan Altima, which had been driving south on Alvord Lane, ran a red light and smashed into a BMW station wagon head on.

The driver of the Nissan fled on foot in the direction of the Greenwich border and the passenger, 50 year old Henry Nixon of Ursula Place was thrown from the car and was taken to Stamford hospital where he died soon after.

The BMW was being driven by Greenwich resident Anthony Andriulli, aged 73, and he suffered serious injuries including multiple fractures. Both he and his wife, 70 year old Judith Andriulli were taken to Stamford hospital where she died on Saturday morning. The vehicle was so badly damaged that both had to be cut free from the vehicle by the fire department.

The driver is currently being sought by police and is said to be a black female wearing blue jeans and a gray sweatshirt.
